The US National Committee for UN Women (USNC) is one of 14 national committee's that support the global work of UN Women. Through fundraising, advocacy, education and collaboration, the USNC provides support for UN Women projects that center around empowering women and promoting gender equality globally. Some of UN Women's priorities include: Women's political participation, ending violence against women and fostering peace and security.
As the 2-year running President of the USNC for UN Women Florida International University club, the only collegiate club in the nation, my responsibilities involved promoting UN Women's initiatives, and educating college students on global women's issues through hosting year-long and semester initiatives, themed events and General Assembly Meetings.
Through hard work and dedication, our club has been able to achieve many successes including winning Service Club of the year in 2017 under the Council for Student Organizations, facilitating the light-up of the Miami Freedom Tower in orange as a sign of solidarity and support for the 16 Days of Activism to End Violence Against Women, and executing a yearly 5k walk/run on the Biscayne Bay Campus that raises over $10,000 yearly towards UN Women's causes, in collaboration with the Miami Chapter for USNC.
Through this club I have learned organization, time-management and leadership skills, and have been able to use what I have learned through a globally focused organization in my other activities and projects. UN Women has opened my mind to global issues that need to be addressed, and truly set me on a trajectory to one day working in a field that deals with empowering women globally.

President | Global Ambassadors Program (GAP) at FIU |
Formerly known as International Students Ambassador Program (ISAP), GAP was started in order to help prospective and incoming international students with their transition and on boarding into FIU. Here I oversaw 6 board members and 20 ambassadors. After months of hard work getting the organization off the ground, we decided to alter the mission of the organization under the new name, and create an organization that "bridged the GAP" between the International Students Scholar Services (ISSS) and the Office of Graduate and International Admissions, to ultimately create a program where International Students could integrate better into the FIU community, whilst at the same time participating in globally focused events and initiatives.
